Does any one know about the prices of gold rings?I dont want to spend 100 dollers on appraisal is not worth it?
I have a 14 carat yellow gold ring i found it was from my grandmother and i found it in my jewellery box when i moved out. it has .50 carat Diamond round cut,a small1×1 diamond as well as a small 1×1 red diamond i went to a jewellery store and they checked and they all came up as diamonds. On the inside it says chapel bell 14 k.the store said it had nice clear diamonds and that it was most likely antique. it has some filigree work as well and weighs about an oz and a half it is a very pretty ring with some beautiful gold work on it, but not museum worthy of course!… i hope you can help me i just dint wanna waste 100 on getting n appraisal if it is not worth it!
The diamond, along with the other diamonds, need far more explanation to give an honest estimate. I don’t know to what you are referring when you say 1X1 for the diamonds. There are four measures to a diamond’s value; color, cut, clarity and carat. All of these are needed to estimate the value of a stone.
As for the gold itself, 14K means that it is 14 parts gold and 10 part alloy; which means your ring is about 60 % gold. Gold prices fluctuate every day, I will let you look up the current value per ounce. Just keep in mind that you don’t have pure gold.
Based on your incomplete description, I would say your ring is worth anywhere from $1,500 – $3,000.
