J.R.R Tolkien series first edition?
Does anyone know how much a first edition series of Lord of the Rings is worth? It is a worn, but not faded. I also have the box.
Also, how much is a1940 edition of Modern Day English Usage by H.W. Fowler worth? It is all new, but has a name and date in inside.
I also have Mary Poppins Comes Back printed 1935(cover is the same, but it has a library due date card in the back and is kind of worn), The Complete Sherlock Holmes printed 1953 (has dust cover, but it is slightly torn, and authors signature in inside cover). How much are these books worth?
Where do you usually sell antique books, and how can you find out more about them?

This is something that you really need to take and get appraised. You are not going to be able to find an exact correct price online without submitting photos and a lot more information on the books. I rare book store can help you out on this. If you call up a rare bookstore close to where you live and ask them if they appraise books or where you can take your books to get appraised. One thing to always remember about getting a book or anything else appraised is to get it appraised by at least two different appraisers(two different places). The reason for that is to make sure you the appraiser is not trying to tell you that it is worth a lot less then what it really is and you end up sell him the item. Go to yellowpages.com or do a google search for book appraisers in your area. Then to sell it if you want to after it has been appraised you can ask the different appraiser that if you decided to sell if where would be a good place. You can also do a search for rare book stores in your area to sell the books to after you get them appraised. Good luck.
